Guest Lectures of WUS Austria for TSU/GIPA MA Program Students

 On 10 March 2018, Louise Sperl (WUS AT) provided a guest lecture/workshop on migration and sustainable development at Tbilisi State University for students of the MA Programme on Migration Management.

 On 10 March 2018, Louise Sperl (WUS AT) provided a guest lecture/workshop on migration and sustainable development at Tbilisi State University for students of the MA Programme on Migration Management. The lecture addressed concepts such as human and sustainable development, explored the nexus between sustainable development and migration and introduced tools to for measuring development – such as the Human Development Index (HDI) and Gender Inequality Index (GII). The lecture further introduced the Agenda 2030 & the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the nexus between the SDGs and migration. In interactive working groups, students explored and discussed migration related targets of the SDGs in the specific context of Georgia. Furthermore, the New York Declaration on Refugees and Migrants as well as progress made in developing a Global Compact on Refugees as well as a Global Compact for safe, orderly and regular migration were discussed.
